debut album finally complete!

well it's taken the best part of a year but I've finally finished my debut album!

The album's called 'Faith in a Box'. It's 11 tracks (plus a sneaky bonus track :P) long and has got songs written between now and February last year. The track listing issssssssssss...

From the start till now

oooh this is quite exciting! Got bored of twitter, facebook and myspace so thought why not start a blog!

In this first blog I'm gonna try and get you up to date with where I am with my music and all that's going on there. To cut a very long story short, I started this solo project about February last year ('08) writing songs on my own in my bedroom and I was really pleased with some of them and how they were going so I saved up my pennies and spent two weeks in a studio in Woking over the summer.

The idea was, get the album finished off then and get it printed by September but things haven't quite gone to plan! Everyone involved in the album pretty much knows it as 'Chinese Democracy' now and I think we've all started loosing our patience a bit!

I started playing gigs in October '08 with two guys backing me up, my good friend Kieran Fairweather on drums and my brother Simeon Lees on bass guitar and sax. We played about ten shows here and there and it was great to go out and play the songs live. 

A few months done the line, we're in mid May and I haven't played for three months while I get my head down with the album. The two producers I'm using for the album are both at university in their final years doing a sound recording course and they've been very very busy with that which has slowed us down lots but we're so very very nearly there now. 

All the recordings done and we're down to the final bit of the mix and all being well, the album will be finished by the end of the week! It's going to be called 'Faith in a Box', it's a 12 track album (ppsssssst! there's a bonus track too!!) and some tracks from it will hopefully be up by the end of the week on my myspace page.

In two days time I've got my biggest gig yet at The Cockpit in Leeds which I'm quite looking forward too! Feels like a million years since I played live so it'll be great to get out and play the songs again. 

If you'd like to come see me live I've got lots of dates coming up over the next few months with shows so far confirmed in Bradford, Leeds, York, London, Sheffield, Watford and Selby.
